Theodore Tyminsky

Theodore Ivanovich Tyminsky [Федір Іванович Тимінський], (b. August 15, 1898, in Ukraine; d. October 11, 1969, in Oneida, NY). Theodore Tyminsky was born in Ukraine in 1898. He earned his music degree in Kamianets-Podilskіy (Khmelnytsky oblast). Following WWII, he spent time in Germany as a displaced person in the American Zone before coming to the U.S. He arrived at the port of Boston on May 5, 1949, and traveled to Cleveland, where he was hired as director of the “Bandurist” Choir of St. Vladimir UOC. A few years later, he relocated to Youngstown, OH, and directed the choir at SS. Peter and Paul UOC before moving to Coatesville, PA, to direct at Holy Ghost UOC. Tyminsky died on October 11, 1969, at the age of 71 and is buried in St. Andrew Cemetery in South Bound Brook, NJ.

1953: Choir director at Sts. Peter and Paul UOC (Youngstown, OH).

1955: Choir director at Holy Ghost UOC (Coatesville, PA).
