Nestor Olynyk [Нестор Оліӣник], (b. November 26, 1930, in Hamilton, Ontario). Composer, conductor, and music educator. For over fifty years, he directed choirs at Orthodox churches in Ontario, Canada. He wrote two liturgies and numerous sacred hymns. He also participated in seminars for voice, orchestra, cantoring, and conducting. In 1988, Olynyk organized and directed a 650-voice choir for the Divine Liturgy and concert that took place in Hamilton’s Vic Copps Arena to commemorate the Millennium of Christianity in Ukraine.
