
Michailo Zazulak [Михайло Зазуляк], (b. 1887 in Lviv, Ukraine; d. August 19, 1936, in New York, NY). Singer, composer. After years of private vocal training in Warsaw, Poland, Zazulak set out in 1909 for America, where he made a name for himself as a singer with the Metropolitan Opera Chorus. For the next three decades, he was in demand as the featured performer at many functions within the Ukrainian community. He also became a popular recording artist, having recorded a total of 98 songs in Ukrainian, Polish, and Lithuanian, for labels such as “Columbia”, “Victor”, “OKeh”, “Edison”, and the French company “Pete.”
