Kyrylo Cependa [Кирило Цепенда], (b. December 24, 1914, in Dzhuryn, Ternopil, Ukraine; d. October 2, 2003), director of TREMBITA Mixed Choir in Detroit (1949-1959) and the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic parish choir “Boyan” for over 50 years.

1937-1942: Studied at the Mykola Lysenko Conservatory (Lviv) and the music academy (Vienna).
1941-1945: Regent of the choir at the Church of St. Barbara (Vienna).
1945-1949: Conductor of “Trembita” male chorus (Munich, Germany).
1949: Came to America.
1949-1959: Director of “Trembita” mixed choir (Detroit).
1955-1990: Choir director at St. John the Baptist (Detroit).
1973: Produced the radio program «Гомін України» (Detroit).
1989-?: Choir director of “Vatra” Male Chorus (Warren, MI).
