Alexander Kolisnychenko [Олександир Колісниченко], (b. 1891 in Ukraine; d. 1958 in Cleveland, OH). Choir director, voice teacher, and colleague of composer Michailo Telezhynsky. He directed a number of choirs in Ukraine, including the Cathedral Choir of Metropolitan Polikarp (Sikorsky) in Lutsk. He was also involved later with the Ukrainian Theater, a troupe of singers and dancers who performed with great success during the war in Poland and Germany. After spending several years in a German DP camp, Professor Kolisnychenko immigrated to America in 1949 and settled in Wilmington, DE. There he became the musical director for the Dnipro Chorus at SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Around 1952, he moved to Cleveland, OH, where he served for a brief period as choir director at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Church until his untimely death in 1958.
