Volodymyr Lach

Volodymyr Lach [Володимир Лaх], (b. 1900 in Tartakiw, L’vivska oblast, Ukraine; d. 1991 in Cleveland, Ohio), choir director at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Parma, Ohio. Lach immigrated to Canada and  directed the choir at St. Vladimir UOC in Toronto, Ontario, from 1940 to 1942. In 1944, he earned a degree in music theory from McGill University’s Conservatory of Music in Montreal. He came to the United States in 1949 and settled in Cleveland, Ohio, to become the choir director of St. Vladimir UOC (located today in Parma). He passed away in 1991 and is buried at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery in Cleveland.
