Father Boniface Malowany [о. Боніфaтій Мaльовaний], (b: Feb. 21, 1935, in Star-Peno, Alberta), choir director, Basilian priest, and teacher (1963-1964) at St. Basil-the-Great College in Weston, Ontario. Fr. Boniface was born in the prarie community of Star-Peno, Alberta, which is close to the town of Mundare, the Center of Ukrainian Catholicism in Canada. He was ordained in Rome in 1960. He received formal training in music at the Conservatory of Music in Toronto, and later became a member of the Ontario Music Education Assn. During his long career, he directed a number of choirs, including the choirs at Toronto’s St. Demetrius Catholic Church (ca. 1965) and at St. Nicholas (1980s).
