
Lev Rejnarovych [Лев Рейнарович], (b. Jan. 14, 1914, in Halychyna in the village of Kniazhpil [Княжпіль, тепер Пшемисльського воєводства, Польща); d. Jan. 31, 1987, in New York). Opera singer and choir director. He studied voice in Lviv at the Lysenko Music Institute and went on to become a soloist with the Lviv Opera Theater (1939-1944). He came to America in 1949 and settled in New Haven, Connecticut, where he directed the choir at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church. He moved to Brooklyn, NY, around 1959 and became the choirmaster at Holy Ghost. He also appeared in many opera productions, and founded and directed his own Ukrainian Opera Ensemble (1962-77).
