Cynthia Mycyk

Cynthia Mycyk [Мицик], (b. April 30, 1948, in Clifton, NJ; d. December 17, 2020 in Ambridge, PA). Church choir director and wife of Rev. Omelan Mycyk. She was born into a musical family. Her uncle was Rev. Stephen Hallick-Holutiak, who was a great promoter of church music. She married Omelan Mycyk, who later became a priest, and in 1971, the couple was assigned to the parish of St. George Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Minersville, Pennsylvania, where Cynthia became the director of the church choir. From there, she accompanied her husband as he was transferred in the 1980s to Youngstown, OH (SS. Peter and Paul UOC) and then to Ambridge, PA (St. Vladimir UOC). In 1991, she directed at SS. Peter and Paul UOC in Carnegie, PA, and directed there until around 2002.
