Patrick J.  Marcinko

Patrick J. Marcinko [Патрік Мaрсинко], (b. August 28, 1937, in Olyphant, PA; d. July 8, 2016, in Archbald, PA). Choir director at SS. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church in Olyphant, Pennsylvania. He majored in music at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. In 1962, he returned to Northeastern Pennsylvania to teach music at Archbald High School. He later became the head Band Director for Scranton Central High School. He arranged and composed hundreds of works for orchestra and chorus, including his monumental oratorio “Pacha.” He is buried in SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Cemetery in Peckville, PA.

1989-2016: Choir director at SS. Cyril and Methodius UCC (Olyphant, PA).

1962: Became music teacher at Archbald High School, and later head Band Director for Scranton Central H.S.

1985: Founder “Ekumen Chorale.”
